FREE SUNDAY ART CLASS: ONE BOOK, ONE PHILADELPHIA
Changing Norms: A Pop Art Class
Teacher: Hannah Pipkin
Sunday, January 21, 2018 • 12pm and 3pm
The 1960s shook up mainstream culture, including the art scene: out went “high art” concepts of mythology and classic history, and in came a vibrant celebration of everyday life, inspired by pop culture. Create your own pop art based on this colorful and iconic style. Workshops will take place on January 21 at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Works created during this free class will stay in the gallery to be exhibited in Paradigm Gallery + Studio's Community Arts Project Exhibition, with all sales supporting future arts-education programming.
Advance registration required; sign up for either the 12:00 p.m. session or 3:00 p.m. session.
This event is part of One Book, One Philadelphia, a signature program of the Free Library of Philadelphia that promotes literacy, library usage, and citywide conversation by encouraging the Philadelphia area to come together through reading and discussing a single book.
